My Story

Hi! I’m Shannon and I’m brains behind Sleigh Arts Studios (SASs). Well, I’m the everything behind SASs cuz it’s only me doing all the things. And for now, that’s just fine with me. This is all so new to me, so I’d really love to make the mistakes myself before dragging anyone else along with me! 🙂

I began quilting September 2020 – a pandemic quilter. It didn’t take me long to realize I was completely smitten with the art and haven’t looked back since. I enjoy all sorts of techniques in the quilting and sewing world, but I’ve really found my happy place in Foundation Paper Piecing.

I have recently delved into the world of pattern writing and instructing at retreats. As the daughter of an educator, the teaching part really makes me happy and was instantly comfortable. I really enjoy seeing the light bulb go off for folks trying a new technique or a technique in a new way and the excitement they exude when it clicks.
